Panchakarma comes from Ayurvedic Healing. Its aim is to produce a state of perfect health beyond the mere absence of disease. Treatment programmes are individualised and carefully monitored to restore balance. Ideally, the client is in residence for several days. Treatment is prescribed by an Ayurvedic practitioner, and is specific to individual physiology and health conditions. Massage is followed by a steam bath and internal cleansing, as prescribed. The Ayurvedic practitioner meets the client daily to take the pulse and prescribe treatments for the following day. Panchakarma eliminates toxins from the body, helping to restore balance and prevent future illness.
