Our bodies are the vessels of our current existence and have an intrinsic intelligence that we simply have to get in touch with in order to live well.
‘These pains you feel are messengers. Listen to them.’ – Rumi
Each body has its own stories; my job is to listen–to hear its stories as clearly as possible–and to respond effectively. I work with the whole system, guided predominantly by my training in Craniosacral Therapy but also tapping into my broad experience, supplemented by research and additional studies in nutrition, meditation, psychology, psychic development, shamanism, quantum physics, neuroanatomy and much more. Through bodywork sessions, I will work on your body and its health as well as respond to my intuition in terms of your resourcing and support between treatments. Through this approach, I can re-establish the dialogue between your body and its inherent health and guide you to the best version of you that you can be. If a body has dis-ease, it also has the ability to find ease.
I have journeyed far to this destination of healer; in between initially studying Developmental Psychology, to training through Integral Health to become a qualified Craniosacral Practitioner, I have worked in Investment Banking; Human Resources; Consulting; Grief Counseling; Social Development; Social Entrepreneurship; Mentoring; Writing and Jung Psychology. I'm like a sponge that draws water and then allows it to flow and settle into its place, knowing that everything works in symbiosis and union. This has been a life work that has culminated in Craniosacral Therapy rather than the other way around. I have a passion for nutrition, personal development and holistic health and believe in an integrated patient-centred approach that treats the body, mind and spirit as one.
‘As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.' – Dr William Garner Sutherland
Our bodies don’t hold any ultimate physical laws; only entrenched behavioural patterns. Within all of us is the freedom to rise to a higher state of being. Physical injuries, emotional and psychological stresses, birth traumas and toxicity can become imprinted in the body’s connective tissues (fascia, ligaments, muscles and bones), including the head, acting like a recording that is replayed whenever stimulated.
Craniosacral Therapy is a light-touch manual therapy that balances the structures surrounding the brain and spinal cord, stimulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which enhances the overall health of the body. There is a fundamental subtle movement within all body tissues that practitioners are trained to feel using a highly developed sense of palpation to tap into these strains and to gently release them.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle and non-invasive healing practice that senses the body’s subtle rhythms and patterns of inertia or congestion and takes an individual on a journey to their own unique place of innate health. It encourages the body to settle out of conditions that have been set up by history, injury and lifestyle and return it to its natural flow.
Craniosacral Therapy is also excellent as a preventive therapy because it can facilitate the resolution of imbalances within a system that the individual may not even be consciously aware of. Treatment can begin at birth and can be used throughout life as part of your medical aid plan because consistently receiving this healing therapy improves the body’s resistance to ailments and increases its ability to heal.
Because Craniosacral Therapy accesses the individual’s underlying health, there is no ailment that it cannot help ease or cure.
